Shopping - The nearest shop is the Spar Store in Wool. This sells everything and is quite reasonably priced. It is open seven days a week from 8 in the morning to 10 at night. There is a good shopping centre in Wareham but for major stores go to Poole (Dolphin Centre), Bournemouth or Dorchester (attractive shops). Tesco Superstores are at Tower Park, Poole and Dorchester. Both are well signposted on approach.

DVD Club - There is one in the Spar Store. It is very easy to join at the Store.

Banks - Wareham has the major Banks and there are service tills outside the National Westminster Bank and Barclays Bank in North Street and Lloyds Bank in South Street. The Spar Store also offers a cashback service and has a Post Office.

Doctor - There is a surgery in Wool:- The Surgery Folly Lane Wool Wareham, Dorset BH20 6DS Tel. No. 462376 (STD Code 01929)

Pubs - The Weld Arms at East Lulworth - turn left out of yard and go to the bottom of the road and turn right, it is then 400yds on left (very good for evening meals but in the summer you need to book). The Ship at Wool - nothing special but open all day and the food is good. The Castle at West Lulworth - excellent food but gets very busy. The Countryman at East Knighton - excellent all round family pub with good playground, very good food from bar snacks to carvery (You must book carvery in advance). The Sailors Return at East Chaldon. The Worlds End - to be found on the A31, Bere Regis to Wimborne road (about four miles from Bere on the right). It is a bit of a trot but well worth it. They will not take bookings so arrive early to be sure of a table. There are many pubs in the area most of which are quite acceptable so it is well worth exploring.

Restaurants - The Priory - On the river in Wareham, is excellent. Kemps - On the main road between Wool and Wareham, this is up market but well worth going to on a special occasion.
